Has anyone ever tried to remove old contact paper from a shelf?
It can be really difficult to remove shelf paper that has been sticking for a long time.
Since this contact paper was old, it was really brittle, and coming off in tiny pieces.
I was getting frustrated because it was taking forever.
Then I had a great idea.
Here is a handy tip for easy contact paper removal.
Using heat from a hairdryer will soften the vinyl, reactivate the glue, and make removal of old contact paper super easy!

Wow! That blow dryer really made it easy to remove the old shelf paper. If you have a heat gun, that would work, too.
Now that I got the shelf paper off, my next project will be to prime and paint the ugly particle board that was hiding underneath. My goal is to freshen up the entire inside of this old closet.
But for now, the brittle, old shelf paper is off and I’m thankful I found a way that was easy to remove it!
