Custom canvas wall art can be created in my art studio or on site. If you live in the Los Angeles area I can also paint on location.
The largest stretched canvas that fits in my vehicle is 72 inches x 48 inches. So I can pick up and deliver a pretty large wall mural on canvas if you’d like me to work remotely.
How does it work? Just like I create custom wall murals for clients in their homes, I can also paint custom paintings on canvas. So just give me a call when you’re ready. 818-994-1441 Ask for Colette.
Here are a few ways I worked with past clients to create custom wall art.
This image shows a multiple canvas configuration.
(above) This piece was painted for an office. It’s three pieces of stretched canvas. The center canvas is the actual company logo. We thought it would look good to extend actual elements of the logo, out from the center canvas onto both side canvases. And it does look good.
This custom canvas adds color and a cohesive element to the walls of this business.
This next piece was actually painted directly on a wall. I’m showing it to you because my clients intention was for it to look as if a large framed canvas painting was hanging above their sofa. They actually attached molding directly to the wall and framed their beach scene, after I left.
The custom details in this Beach Shop Mural make it really special.
The street sign says, “Zimmerman Way”. There is a fire department feature because Dad is a Fireman. Bailey’s Boards, Kodie’s Kabana, Paige’s Bikini’s, and Grossman’s Grill, all uniquely represent different family members. And the silhouette couple in the background overlooking the ocean was meaningful, too. Six Zips Plaza was created to commemorate fun family vacation experiences that are often spent at the beach.
The next image shows part of a large canvas mural-in-progress.
Notice how the caricature goes from a sketch, to painted. And then a hat is added as a final customization. So I truly customize every detail.
And here’s one final canvas idea.
Paint an abstract design to compliment fabric or some other prominent room accessory.
I’m working on a more current piece, but for now, see the example below.
(above) This canvas wall art was created to compliment the fabric on the throw pillows of this living room. My client liked the designs in her pillow but preferred muted and soft colors. She had me create this on location and I worked on this canvas, with lots of check-ins, until she was pleased.
Hopefully these examples help communicate how I’d work with you to customize large canvas wall art.

Once you have a general idea about the canvas art you’d like to commission, let’s brainstorm together on the phone and get clearer on details. 818-994-1441
What is the process for commissioning custom canvas wall art?
1 – First, start thinking about what you want.
- What feeling do you want your painting to create in your space? What room will it be for?
2 – Once you have a general idea, give me a call. We’ll brainstorm and easily figure out more details, together.
We’ll discuss things like:
- What size canvas would fit your space best? Would you like a single canvas or multiple canvas configuration?
- Are you are in the Los Angeles area, or in another state? If you’re near Lake Balboa, CA, I can paint at your location or mine (and deliver in person). Otherwise since we’ll be shipping your art when it’s complete, I’ll get your zip code so I can more accurately estimate shipping.
3- Then, I will create a written proposal. Once we’ve discussed your idea, determine size desired, and I have your zip code, I will create a written proposal that includes all details of what we discussed. The proposal will be easy to read and understand, and it will also include the total price (including estimated packing and shipping to you – if you are not local).
4 -Next we’ll schedule a start date and I’ll get busy creating your masterpiece. I’ll schedule specific painting days onto my calendar just like I do for mural clients. And then I’ll create something custom and special for you.
5 – There will be check-ins throughout the painting process to assure your preferences are being met. It’s fun to view the art as it comes alive.
6-When your art is finished I ship or deliver to you. You approve the finished painting and I package it and get it on it’s way to you.
Warning – Commissioning custom wall art may create feelings of anticipation and adventure.
Because when we create together, you’ll get to experience as much of the painting process as desired. It’s nice to have something to look forward to, and seeing your decorative ideas come to life is really fun!
But the fun doesn’t end there. You could also commission custom painted furniture.
Canvas art is great for:
- A business that wants a professional looking office while they do business from home and then can take it with them should they choose to rent a space in the future. See murals painted in businesses.
- A painted backdrop that can move with you. A backdrop to use behind you when video conferencing or just something that makes you feel more professional or look more branded at home.
- It could be a destination piece. A location that holds great memories for you with special little details incorporated in that are special to you. Check out this mural of Portofino, Italy.
- Custom art is also a way to create a treasured memento. Create meaningful collage or word art mixed with personal photographs of family, friends or pets. I could create custom collage art that combines photographs, and text. Text could describe a special memory. See an example here.
Now that you are bursting with ideas, give me a call.
