Give outdated furniture a fresh new look by painting it.
Your furniture could be stunning.
Paint furniture to match bedding, fabrics or rugs. Incorporate colors or patterns from room accessories, into your painted furniture design.
Should you paint furniture you already have, or purchase new furniture to paint on?
You could really go either way.
Give a makeover to old furniture if it’s sturdy and fits your space well. Some old furniture is of higher quality than what’s currently being sold in stores. It’s easy to transform dated furniture into gorgeous, functional, high quality, art. And if you do attempt painting it yourself, it’s already old and ugly, so you can’t ruin it!
If what you currently have is rickety, or not really right for your space, get rid of it. Get a used piece of furniture that would work better for your space. Or purchase something new.
I have painted on all sorts of furniture – old furniture, new furniture and even unassembled furniture.
What sort of furniture can be painted?
Paint a kitchen table, built-in furniture, a fireplace cabinet or mantle, entry doors, chairs – really, any furniture. As long as the furniture is in good shape, go for it!
Can furniture look good painted the same color as walls?
If you paint furniture the same color as your walls, it will blend in and kind of take on the look of a built-in. And if your furniture blends into your wall, and you are painting murals – you could continue the mural right onto your furniture.
