Wall Mural Artist – Los Angeles, CA
Hi, I’m Colette Stroffolino. Over the years I’ve painted hundreds of murals and still absolutely love creating with paint! “I enjoy going into a room with totally blank walls, brainstorming with you, understanding what it is you want, and the style you’d like, and pulling it all together for you.”
A good muralist will factor furniture arrangement into your mural layout so finished murals can be enjoyed through common room transitions.
(I often do this so well that when a client has me back a few years later, it’s usually to paint a different room. And they show me how their baby room is still being enjoyed by their 7-year-old!)
You are welcome to hang out with me while I am painting and watch your room transform. I’m often told, “It’s not just a painting – it’s an experience!”
So…What would you like?
- A Simple Mural? (little background but lots of surprises sprinkled around your room)
- A Single Wall Mural? (paint only on a single wall or the ceiling)
- A custom Hand-painted Border? (a unique border created just for you)
- or…the whole enchilada – A Full Room Mural? (every inch of wall and ceiling painted!)

How did I get into Mural Painting?
Ever since I was little, I vowed to pick a career I really enjoyed.
I figured, “Since most people spend 40+ hours/week working…how much happier would I be if I LOVE my work?”
The only problem was that I enjoyed and was passionate about many things (and good at them, too). How could I pick just one? Slowly I figured it out. Pick one career, do it well…and when the time is right, learn more about my next passion and add it into the mix.
And that’s just what I did.

BIO
After graduating from Kutztown University with a BFA in Fine Art, I didn’t know what sort of art I wanted to create yet, so I followed another passion – one that combined acting and my love of being around children. I started entertaining children at birthday parties, holiday parties, and mall events. “What I love about entertaining kids is that it’s obvious when I’ve done a good job. Seeing happy faces and knowing a child felt special and important for a moment in time, partially due to me, is priceless.”
I loved working with children it showed. I was offered a position teaching arts and crafts at a local daycare for their after school program. Overseeing crafts was fun and I found it fulfilling to see such young children so excited about learning basic art skills.
Since this was a big hit, besides Face Painting and twisting balloon animals, I also lead Arts and Craft Parties.
…But I still wanted to use my Fine Art skills.
So…how did I get into painting Wall Murals?
Back in Art School, I loved creating art to each professor’s specifications – It really stretched my imagination. But after graduating with a Fine Arts Degree, I realized I didn’t have a burning desire to create a specific kind of art.
I began my professional art career by hand-painting furniture and selling it on consignment at art/craft shows. Each piece of furniture had a different finish and transporting larger items was challenging…but it was a start.
When I got the idea of becoming a mural painter and started painting murals, everything fell into place!
And, each client had specific preferences for their mural with different themes, styles, and colors. It was perfect!
I absolutely love bringing other people’s ideas to life.
As a child, I loved paint-by-number sets. “Painting murals is like painting a giant paint-by-number set, once the design decisions are made, and a sketch is on the wall!” I started out by painting a lot of baby nurseries and kids rooms. Since I enjoyed working with children so much, painting magical environments for kids felt like the next natural step in my career. Then, I branched out to include painting murals in other parts of homes as well as in businesses.
Apparently, when you start going in the right direction, everything flows. I have been working by referrals and repeat clients, ever since! View my work: Wall Mural Examples.
After entertaining kids and painting murals simultaneously for over a decade, I still loved what I was doing…and decided it was time for something new.
I love animals – and writing.
I discovered I was an animal person when I got my first pet. She was a chihuahua.
I found a way to creatively combine my love of writing and my love of dogs by writing a book about having a pet for the first time. My girl, Lucie used to travel to work with me and hang out while I painted murals! My book, Small Dog, Big Adventures was published in February 2017. Find out more
